Designing & Implementing a Charrette – Human Trafficking, Colorado State University
Worked with a group of students to host and implement a Charrette in our Arts Outreach and Community Engagement class. We chose the topic of human trafficking where we talked about what human trafficking was and how to prevent it. Throughout the process attendees worked on multiple art projects to help brainstorm solutions for prevention. The first project we did was have participants break a pot then use the pieces to create a new piece of art to show people that just because something may be broken, it can still be mended to create something beautiful. The second project we did was have participants get into groups to create popsicle sticks with solutions listed on them. We then put the houses together to create a “community of solutions.”
